Lynette Bird originates from South Africa where she was a recruitment consultant for one of the biggest corporate recruitment firms in Johannesburg. After which, Lynette opened a highly successful recruitment company that she ran with her husband, Steve for many years.
In 2000 the family left South Africa for the Balkans and within a short time they met their first Kiwis. The Kiwis had been operating in the region for over a decade and offered Lynette a job in their Immigration Consultancy Firm. This is where Lynette's career began as an Immigration Adviser. The firm specialised in Immigration Applications for New Zealand and Australia. Lynette's extensive knowledge in recruitment was a huge asset to the company because it enabled her to easily identity “skilled” workers and give guidance on career and study pathways to ensure an applicant would qualify under the Skilled Migrant criteria. After working for a few years in the Balkans it was time to settle down somewhere permanently.
The family arrived in New Zealand in 2003. Lynette worked for a recruitment company in Auckland to get hands on, Kiwi experience and learn more about the Kiwi way of doing business. Part of her duties entailed providing Immigration assistance to foreign applicants who required work visas. It soon became apparent that there was a gap in the market for an Immigration Adviser who can offer a more personalised service.
Bird Immigration Limited was established in 2003. The company decided to provide a mobile service for applicants in the Auckland region. The mobile service has been welcomed by new migrants as most find it difficult to get around in a new country although, the majority of applications we handled are for applicants who are based abroad during the application process.
Lynette attributes the company success to her excellent pre and post customer service, additional advice on settlement in New Zealand and her personal interest in the wellbeing of their clients. Lynette's reputation in the industry has resulted in extensive referrals from applicants, recruiting firms and employers she has dealt with.
Her passion is to assist migrants to settle successfully in New Zealand. There is no job more gratifying than providing a stress free services to a client and ensuring their dream of a new life is achieved.
Lynette believes that the licensing legislation has introduced the level of professionalism that is required in order to protect migrants.
As a Full IAA (Immigration Advisors Authority) license holder Lynette is qualified to provide Immigration Advise and services for all categories of Immigration New Zealand applications.
